Monel K500 UNS N05500 Monel K500 ist eine mit Niederschlagsmenge gerettbare Nickel-Kupper-Legierung, die die hervorragende Korrosionsbeständigkeit für Monel 400 mit dem zusätzlichen Vorteil der Härte und größerer Festigkeit kombiniert. Diese amplifizierten Eigenschaften, Stärke und Härte werden durch Zugabe von Titan und Aluminium zur Nickel-Kupper-Basis und durch eine thermische Verarbeitung zur Auswirkung von Niederschlägen, die typischerweise als Altersverhärtung oder -alterung bezeichnet werden, hinzugefügt. Im altersgehärteten Zustand hat Monel K-500 in einigen Umgebungen eine größere Tendenz zu Stresskorrosionsrissen als Monel 400. Monel K-500 hat ungefähr das Dreifache der Streckgrenze und doppelt so hoch wie die Zugfestigkeit im Vergleich zu Monel 400. Außerdem kann es vor der Abhärtung der Niederschläge durch Kältearbeit weiter gestärkt werden. Die Stärke dieser Nickelstahllegierung wird auf 1200F gehalten, bleibt jedoch duktil und stört auf Temperaturen von 400 ° F. Der Schmelzbereich beträgt 2400-2460 ° F.
Die Korrosionsresistenz von Monel K-500 entspricht der von Legierung 400 im Wesentlichen, außer dass Nickel Monel K-500, wenn es im altershärteten Zustand in einigen Umgebungen eine größere Tendenz zu Spannungskorrosionsrissen hat. Es wurde festgestellt, dass Monel K-500 gegen eine saure Gasumgebung resistent ist. Die Kombination von sehr niedrigen Korrosionsraten in Hochgeschwindigkeitswasser und hoher Festigkeit macht Monel K-500 für Wellen von Zentrifugalpumpen im Meeresdienst besonders geeignet. Bei stagnierenden oder langsam bewegenden Meerwasser kann das Verschmutzung auftreten, gefolgt von Lochfraß, aber dieses Lochfraß verlangsamt sich nach einem ziemlich schnellen anfänglichen Angriff.
Monel K-500 ist eine Nickel-Kupfer-Legierung mit der gleichen Korrosionsbeständigkeit und -eigenschaften wie der Monel 400. Der Monel K-500 hat eine größere Stärke und Härte als die 400 infolge von zugesetztem Aluminium und Titan. In einem altersgehärteten Zustand neigt es in einigen Umgebungen zu einer größeren Tendenz zu Stress-Korrosionsrissen.
