PVDF hat hohe Festigkeit, super chemische Beständigkeit, hohe Temperaturbeständigkeit, UV-Beständigkeit. Außerdem ist seine dielektrische Eigenschaft sehr gut. Im Vergleich zu PTFE hat es eine höhere Oberflächenhärte. Die globale Produktionskapazität von PVDF ist nur neben PTFE in der Fluorpolymer-Familie
